My beautiful girl, Nala was a short-haired black cat. I only had her for 16 months, but it felt like I'd lost a life long friend , when she passed away. She was an at times cantankerous cat, but for most part she was a darling, who loved nothing more then to curl up on my lap for a cuddle and a pat. Sadly, I had to have her put to sleep after she was poisoned by a cane toad. Even though she did recover , the poison from the cane toad did permanant damage to her tongue and she was unable to eat or drink. She was put on a drip to re-hydrate her, in the hope she would be able to eventually eat and drink again. Unfortunately, it didn't happen and after 10 days I made the agonizing decision to have her put to sleep. RIP my little angel xxx

The agony is so great...

~ Lend Me A Kitten ~
I will lend to you for a while
a kitten, God said.
For you to love while she lives,
and mourn when she's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call her back,
take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
